Once upon a time there was a dog called Sammy. He lived in a dump site near downtown in Manhattan. He was alone and he had to steal food to survive. Sammy used to dream about having a family that could look after him.
One day, while a man called Joe was driving home after work, Sammy crossed the street and unfortunately Joe hit him with his car. Joe was a vet so he took Sammy home and he decided to take care of him until he recovered. When Joe arrived home, his wife and his son asked what he was doing with a stray dog and he told them that he accidentally hit the dog with his car.Mary, Joe’s wife, didn’t want Sammy to stay in her house, but Kevin, Joe’s 5-year-old son loved dogs so he liked Sammy.
Sammy became the family’s pet, but Mary was mad at this, she hated Sammy!
While Joe was working and Kevin was at school, Mary took Sammy to the dog pound and she left him there. Sammy was very upset.
When Joe and Kevin arrived home, they realized that Sammy wasn’t at home so they asked her if she knew where the dog was, she told them that Sammy escaped. Kevin and Joe looked for Sammy everywhere but they couldn’t find him. Meanwhile, at the dog pound, Sammy was trying to escape.
One day, Kevin went to the dog pound with his friend Charlie to buy a pet. When they were looking for a dog to buy, Kevin saw Sammy and he took him back home.
Mary felt sorry, and she let Sammy stay. They lived happily ever after...
